Let me calm down first, and greet you.
Good Morning Yo!
How are you doing?
I don't know why I sound this excited, I shouldn't be.
I almost flopped yesterday.
How do you guys manage to stay awake through the rain?
Like!!! The moment it started drizzling here, I just hopped into the bed, and just like that, I slept till 6 pm.
From 2 pm to 6 pm. Four cool hours. How can I sleep for four hours during the day and still sleep at night when I have a lot on my plate?
Waking up by 6 pm was not even easy, I was still very sleepy.
And when I thought it was all over, I came online and my friend was telling me how he slept the entire day. Superman! You're topping.
The truth is even after sleeping for four hours, I still completed my tasks for the day, and I had like 5 things to do, aside from house chores and the delicious spaghetti I prepared.
I divided my tasks into two, did some in the morning, and left the rest for the evening.
I could have continued sleeping after 6 pm but I knew I would be penalized by my accountability partners. I don't know how that works every time but it does, and maybe I know why it works.
See ehn, the most prominent reason people do lots of things is to impress.
Peer pressure is the reason most persons became wayward. It's also the reason most persons became successful.
You belong to a circle that believes in a particular thing and even if you think differently, over time, you see yourself doing exactly what the circle does.
Has this ever happened to you?
What's that habit you picked or dropped because of your circle?
Having an accountability partner is a higher level of peer pressure.
It is peer pressure chasing you pants down. Nothing is restricting the flow, the pressure will catch you.
There are days I want to lazy around and just eat, sleep and play. This happens often😣, I'm not proud of it, but it happens.
Do you know the one thing that drives that thought far away and keep me on my feet?
It's being accountable to someone. Being accountable to you.
When I introduced accountability to my friend Chubby, do you know what he said?
I've heard this a lot, but does it really work? There are lots of strategies like this, but how am I sure this will work? I've even tried it before and it didn't.
3 months later, and he wouldn't drop the idea of accountability.
Do I hear you say you've tried it too? You've tried being accountable to someone, even three persons and it didn't work? You even belong to an accountability group right now and you're not seeing any progress?
You've been doing it the wrong way, and it's not your fault.
Perhaps you've not come across the exact accountability strategy that works, and that's why I'm here.
This weekend on THE BIG DISCUSSION, we'll be discussing THE CREATIVE WAY TO LEVERAGE ACCOUNTABILITY FOR PRODUCTIVITY.
You're saying it's the same old shit, so why should you join?
Alright. I'll keep the link to myself.
Take this home though, if you must scale up, grow, and move from someone who spends an entire day just sleeping or scrolling through status updates to someone who has daily tasks and carries them out, you must adopt ACCOUNTABILITY.
Bridget here.
P.S: I didn't tell you what THE BIG DISCUSSION is right?
The BIG Discussion is a vision I'm working on. For now, it's a weekend Whatsapp Status Discussion, where we talk about growth-related issues in our business and personal lives.
BIG Discussion Stands for Bridge-It Growth Discussion. Bridge-It is my baby, a brand I'm growing, and I'm maximizing every avenue to give value (I'm tempted to call out this rhyme, but… I'll hold my peace)
P.P.S: If you're sure the discussion will be beneficial to you, and you'll not just read through, but also contribute, ask questions and take action, then click here to connect with me on Whatsapp.
You can also click the button below to reach out to me, learn more and join my accountability group
