This morning I saw a friend’s status. She posted two great women I know, and how she adores the support system they both have. She affirmed that she’ll have that.
It was an adorable moment. One that made me think for a while.
I’ve seen and I know people who already have a support system, yet they are not making anything out of it.
They have a spouse or a partner that is ready to go all out for them to support their dreams and push them to be as amazing as they want to.
They have a family that genuinely cares and loves them. They have friends willing to roll in the mud for them, yet they keep their dreams small.
I’m left to wonder what the problem is. Is it that they don’t see the support system, or they don’t know what they should achieve with it?
Or do they enjoy being small? Only getting breadcrumbs for their effort? Why are they not soaring?
Why are you not making more out of your university days when you don’t even need to bother about fees or feeding allowance?
Why are you wasting your fresh outta secondary school days when all you have is time and family?
Why are you not doing more even when you know you can and you have people or someone to support you?
Why are you ordinary when you can be extraordinary?
I thought I’ll have a reason or an excuse for you at the end of this email, but I don’t.
So tell me yourself?
Why are you not soaring?
Is your reason good enough? Or would you pick up your mat, step out, and be amazing?
I hope you’ll have an answer for me.
Until then,
SHINE…
I’m Bridget
It is a good question, why are you ordinary? Thanks for inspiring this reflection. We need to self actualize ourselves, especially whenever there are opportunities to do so. I pray that I be that always. Thank you.
